Sobczak to present lecture at library
Sanibel author Charles Sobczak will present a lecture, called “Alligators, Sharks & Panthers or How to Avoid Being Eaten!,” on Jan. 30 at 3 p.m. at the Captiva Memorial Library, at 11560 Chapin Lane. Drawing from his book, it will include Sobczak’s slightly warped eco-humor, as well as information on how not to get devoured. While the statistical odds of getting attacked by a predator are extremely remote, the lecture will explore several real threats to the future of mankind, like pandemics, nuclear war, climate change and tribalism. Sobczak is giving the same lecture to the Sanibel Road Scholar programs, where he has been a featured speaker for over a decade. The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the library at 239-533-4890.
