Calusa Blueway Speaker Series coming up
Kayak Camping will be presented as the third in a series of free Calusa Blueway-related programs set for Feb. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center, at 16760 Bass Road, Fort Myers.
Longtime local paddling guru Pat Owen will share tips and techniques for a successful kayak and SUP camping trip. It will replace Photography from a Canoe program, which was rescheduled to March.
“I’m really excited about Pat’s program,” Calusa Blueway coordinator Mike Hammond, with Lee County Parks & Recreation, said. “She has many great tips that can make camping trips much more enjoyable and successful. This time she is including sit-on-top kayaks and standup paddleboards, which will be great for paddlers who don’t own a sea kayak.”
The remaining Calusa Blueway Speaker Series will include:
– March 6: Paddling Florida Adventures with Tommy Thompson and Peg Phillips
– March 19: Photography from a Canoe
