The Sanibel-Captiva Optimist Club held its annual Island Temptations raffle/drawing on Dec. 18 at Timbers/Sanibel Grill on Sanibel. Two prizes were awarded, each containing about $700 of gift certificates for many island dining establishments. Caroline Coyne, with the Sanibel Grill, drew the winning tickets assisted by club member Randy Carson, who acted as the raffle chairman. The two winners were Beth Newland and Diane Cortese, both local islanders. Proceeds from contributions to the raffle will be used to support the club’s local charitable efforts for children, including six college scholarships, Sanibel Recreation Center support and other local charities.
