The Sanibel Captiva Lions Club continues to collect used prescription eyeglasses as part of its Recycle for Sight program.

Donated glasses are cleaned and processed by Lions for distribution in needed areas of the United States and throughout the world.

The total donations for November was 238, up by 5.5 percent over October, which includes 151 clear glasses. The July-to-date total is at 1,265 items.

“Your donation of old glasses will make a difference in some one’s life,” Rick Wagner, coordinator for the Recycle for Sight program, said. “We greatly appreciate our community’s support of this valuable program.”
