The Sanibel-Captiva Art League will meet on Dec. 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
Award-winning artist Marilyn Hedlund will be the guest speaker.
Joining the art world on Pine Island in the 1990s, she studied extensively in Southwest Florida and France and has developed an impressionistic style. Her abstracts are symphonies of color and energy.
A long-time member of the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers, Hedlund joined the teaching staff in 2016. She teaches fine art acrylics and enjoys working with new artists.
The league’s meetings are free and open to the public.
