At its recent meeting, the Kiwanis Club of Sanibel & Captiva awarded grants to The Sanibel School and Southwest Florida Symphony for the coming year. Assistant Principal Jamie Reid and Tom Uhler, the symphony’s board president, accepted their respective funds. The school’s grant will support the annual Seahorse Festival, which benefits the PTA and island school. The symphony’s grant will help to underwrite its school outreach programs, including free presentations by musicians for fifth-graders at area schools.
