The Sanibel & Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce recently announced that the Island Inn will serve as the title sponsor for the 34th annual Luminary Holiday Stroll on Dec. 7-8.

“We are grateful to Island Inn for their generous support of our Luminary Holiday Stroll,” chamber President John Lai said. “Their longstanding commitment to our community makes it a better place to live, work and visit.”

The oldest inn on Sanibel, the Island Inn houses 49 rooms and cottages.

“Luminary is an event that brings residents, along with visiting guests, together with local businesses to celebrate the joy of the holiday season,” Island Inn General Manager Chris Davison said. “The inn could not be prouder to be its title sponsor.”

The event will be held Dec. 7 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. from one end of Periwinkle Way to the other on Sanibel, then on Dec. 8 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. along Captiva Drive and Andy Rosse Lane on Captiva. Lit paths will lead the way to landmarks, where visitors can enjoy activities, snacks and refreshments.

Luminary will also mark the unveiling of the chamber’s renovated Visitor’s Center, with a ribbon cutting set for Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. The center will offer modern technology for travelers, while keeping a coastal feel. The project includes interior renovations of the ground floor and interactive displays.
