CROW Bank of the Islands/Edison National Bank was this year's presenting sponsor.

The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife named the winners of the 37th Taste of the Islands.

This year’s event featured 13 restaurants from Sanibel and Captiva. The winners were selected by a four-member panel of judges who voted on a variety of categories, while attendees voted for the “People’s Choice Award.” The winners are as follows:

– Best Appetizer: Sanibel Fish House, with wasabi crab cake

– Best Meat: Thistle Lodge, with short rib and gratin

– Best Seafood: The Timbers Restaurant & Fish Market, with crunchy grouper fingers

– Best Vegetarian: Matzaluna, with zoodle Mediterranean

– Best Dessert: Sanibel Fish House, with stuffed key lime cheesecake

– Taste of Taste: Sanibel Fish House

– People’s Choice: The Clam Shack

“It was great to see the community come together for Taste of the Islands, particularly after the rough summer everyone on the island has faced,” event chair Debra Neri said. “The food was amazing and everyone enjoyed the live entertainment provided by the Private Stock Band.”

“Thank you to everyone who attended and supported CROW’s mission, especially the participating restaurants, sponsors and volunteers who made it all possible,” she added.

Funds raised though the event will benefit CROW’s mission to save wildlife through state-of-the-art veterinary care, research, education and conservation medicine.
