Tuesday Bible study has returned to Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ.

Led by the Rev. Dr. John H. Danner, the weekly seminar-style sessions are held at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall and feature a variety of approaches to the study of scripture.

The first book to be examined this year will be Ecclesiastes.

“Many people know the song ‘Turn, Turn, Turn,’ by The Byrds, which is based on Ecclesiastes 3:1-8,” Danner said. “But this collection of wisdom sayings and proverbs has much more to offer.”

Danner will guide students through a chapter-by-chapter examination of the work. The sessions will feature questions and discussions, and will focus on applying the lessons learned to daily living.

Each class will include a specially chosen musical selection, as well as opening prayer.

Novice students of the Bible, as well as those with extensive experience, are encouraged to attend.

The sessions are free and open to the community.

Students are asked to bring a Bible; the New Revised Standard Version is preferred.
