Southeast coast fundraiser helps CROW
Lisa Miceli-Capano, founder of a volunteer clean-up group called SOS Ocean Clean Up, launched a two-week fundraiser called “Adopt A Bucket” to raise funds for the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife Visitor Center on Sanibel. It kicked off on Sept. 14 at Night Sound Waves on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Attendees could purchase a $5 bucket and paint a positive message on it to share with CROW’s staff and volunteers. Each bucket would be shipped to CROW with 100 percent of the proceeds to help with the cleanup efforts and care needed for injured marine life. The Southeast Florida community donated $852, in addition to those mailed directly. The Windjammer Resort donated the buckets and supplies. Miceli-Capano, owner of Stoked On Salt and an ocean conservation artist, explained that she had been following CROW’s Facebook page for the past few months with heart-broken compassion.
