SCC to host information seminar on Medicare
Sanibel Community Church will host its annual Medicare “Open Enrollment” Information Seminar, presented by S.H.I.N.E. counselor Jo Marshall, on Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. in Classroom 130, at 1740 Periwinkle Way. Each year during the open enrollment period – Oct. 15 to Dec. 7 for 2019 – Medicare enrollees have the opportunity to switch from original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan or Medicare Advantage plan back to original Medicare. Enrollees can also switch from one Medicare Part D (prescription plan) to another. Attendees will also learn about Medicare supplement plans. S.H.I.N.E., or Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders, is a free program offered by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and the local Area Agency on Aging.
