LWV of Sanibel to host luncheon program on water quality
The League of Women Voters of Sanibel will kick off its 2018-19 luncheon series on Nov. 15.
The program, “Water Currents: Causes, Solutions, and Actions Impacting Water Quality,” will feature an expect panel made up of: John Cassani, of the Calusa Waterkeeper; James Evans, director of Natural Resources for Sanibel; and Rae Ann Wessel, Natural Resources policy director for the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation.
The panelists will provide “insider” information on questions like: Who is responsible for water quality? What can be done to improve water quality? How will the reservoir impact/help water issues? What can the public/legislature do to improve water quality in the short and long term?
Taking place at the Sundial Beach Resort, registration will open at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch at noon. The program will run from about 12:30 to 2 p.m., including a question-and-answer session.
