Sanibel Public Library to suspend weekly activities for children
The Sanibel Public Library will temporarily suspended its weekly youth programs.
The activities will be put on hold starting Oct. 4 and will resume on Oct. 16.
The weekly youth programs include:
– Family Story Time: Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and Thursdays at 11 a.m. For young readers and their caregivers, the program helps develop pre-reading skills through songs and stories.
– After-School Crew: Thursdays at 3 p.m. Children in kindergarten through third grade will enjoy favorite books, never-knew-existed books, games and crafts, with a snack provided.
– Reading to Bessie: Rain-free Thursdays from 3:45 to 5 p.m. Have fun reading to Bessie, a bearded collie and Reading Education Assistance Dog. Participants can sign up on the spot.
– After-School Clique: Tuesdays at 3 p.m. Geared for children in fourth through sixth grade, the group will craft, build, make and play, with books and a provided snack thrown in.
The weekly programs can be found on the library’s calendar online.
No registration is required to take part in the programs.
The Sanibel Public Library is open Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed on Sundays.
