Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation hosts Wine, Women & Shoes
Florida Cancer Specialists’ physicians Drs. Faithlore Gardner and Rebecca Kosloff will serve as honorary chairs for Wine, Women & Shoes at the Sanibel Harbour.
The event will be held on Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort, at 17260 Harbour Pointe Drive, Fort Myers.
Wine Women & Shoes is the fastest-growing charity event series created for and by women in the United States. Since its inception, these major annual fundraisers held in more than 20 markets across the country have raised over $50,000,000 for charitable causes nationally.
The Foundation’s Wine Women & Shoes event will have a “Girls’ Day Out” theme that will feature a marketplace of boutique “storefronts,” where attendees can shop for shoes, jewelry and other fashion accessories while sampling wines from across the country. Guests will enjoy a live and silent auction, a photo shoot area, and a fun, spirited “Key to the Closet” raffle to win a closet full of fashion accessories and gift certificates, and a luncheon with fashion show by Petunias of Naples.
All proceeds will benefit the FCS Foundation, which provides financial assistance for non-medical living expenses to qualified cancer patients who are currently undergoing treatment in Florida. The FCS Foundation’s overhead is paid by the Florida Cancer Specialists’ physician partners, so 100% of donations benefit cancer patients in need.
Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation Board Member and Treasurer Tom Uhler said, “Wine, Women and Shoes is one of the premiere charity events in the nation. We are thrilled to present the event locally and we hope that in addition to raising funds, we will raise awareness of the Foundation’s mission, which is to assist cancer patients with essential non-medical living expenses.”
When asked about her role as Honorary Co-Chair, Dr. Faithlore Gardner said, “I am grateful to serve as the Honorary Chair of an event that raises money to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families affected by cancer. As an oncologist, I see the impact cancer has on patients and their families.”
Honorary Co-Chair Dr. Rebecca Kosloff added, “I am honored to be part of the first annual Wine, Women, & Shoes in Sanibel Harbour. The FCS Foundation’s goal to help patients undergoing cancer treatment who need financial assistance wouldn’t be possible without support from the local community and sponsors.”
Foundation Executive Director Lynn Rasys said, “Wine Women & Shoes is about friends coming together for a day of fashion, fun and shopping while raising funds for cancer patients in need.”
Event tickets are $200 per person and include wine tasting, lunch, standard seating with dessert during program/fashion show and a swag bag. VIP tickets are $250 per person and includes wine tasting, lunch, VIP seating with champagne and special dessert during program/fashion show, a dedicated Sole Man, and a VIP swag bag. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite pair of shoes the more outrageous, the better.
