The Community House, at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, presents the following:

Alcohol Inking

Anita will teaching Alcohol Inking on Sept. 12 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Practice all the different styles, such as sticker, stamping, swiping, blowing by straw/aircan or dabbing. Minimum of three people needed to hold class; maximum of 10. Cost is $35 for members and $40 for guests. Advance registration and prepayment required by Sept. 10 at noon.

Kids Cooking

Kids Cooking is held on the first Monday of each month, with the first session on Oct. 1 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The classes teach fundamental nutritional cooking skills, develop basic kitchen awareness and food preparation, use culturally-based menus, and stress healthy and nutritious whole foods. The topics of the first session are breakfast apple flapjacks, homemade granola, potato pancakes, omelets and pumpkin muffins. Cost is $50 per class, $174 for four classes or $375 for eight classes when paid in advance.

The Community House will host a Community Social today, Aug. 22, at 6 p.m. The theme will be “Pasta Night.” Created by Resident Chef Jarred Harris, the menu will feature vegetable lasagna, spinach ravioli and spaghetti carbonara. Adults are $15; children ages 10 and under are $10. For an additional $5, attendees can enjoy the ice cream sundae bar and Harris’ homemade sauces.

Non Profit Networking Happy Hour

A Non Profit Networking Happy Hour will be held on Aug. 23 at 4:30 p.m. It will be an informational gathering of like-minded professionals. Local non-profit organizations interested in attending are encouraged to call aheads and RSVP at 239-472-2155.
