Paul Goldschmiedt Jr., 13, of Virginia, found a junonia shell on Aug. 14 at about 9:30 a.m. at Blind Pass Beach. His mother, Amy Goldschmiedt, reported that the family is vacationing on the islands for their first time. Since they arrived on Aug. 8, Paul has been “addicted” to shelling. She added that he has found an assortment of large whelk shells and two alphabet shells for his collection.
