Sanibel Community Association to use grant to rebuild facility’s website
The Charitable Foundation of the Islands recently award a $5,000 grant to the Sanibel Community Association and The Community House.
Executive Director Teresa Riska-Hall explained that the funding will help to cover the costs of rebuilding the non-profit’s website. The grant program offered was for building sustainability of island non-profits. Multiple areas were accepted for it and SCA’s was for “technology improvements.”
“We were very excited to have received this $5,000 grant from CFI to rebuild our website,” she said. “As any small non-profit knows, it is hard to keep up with technology but your website is the key to the online face of your organization.”
According to Riska-Hall, the project has already started with Board Member Daniela Jaeger spearheading the transition to the new site. SCA hopes to have it up and running by August, so it can get all the bugs out prior to the heavier seasonal business.
Going into fall, The Community House is already seeing a growth of 25 percent for the September through December quarter as compared to the same time period last year. She noted that the facility has the potential to host more weddings, family reunions, retreats and company workshops and more.
The Community House is at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel.
