Youth Cooking Class

A summer cooking class will be held on June 4 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Open to ages 8-14. Cost is $35 per child. Advance registration required.

Parent, Child Cooking Class

Resident Chef Jarred Harris will teach a parent and child cooking class on June 11 from 10 a.m. to noon. Learn simple interesting recipes that are healthy, fun and delicious. The menu will include: carrot and orange cupcakes. Cost is $35 for the first two family members, and each additional member is $10. Advance registration required by June 4 at noon.

Hands-on Cooking Class

Resident Chef Jarred Harris will teach a hands-on cooking class on “Farm to Table Dinner” on June 15 from 10 a.m. to noon. The menu will include: fig goats cheese and caramelized onion tart, traditional coq au vin, and lemon and caramel cream puffs. Cost is $40. Advance registration required by June 8 at noon.

Chef Jarred Cooking Demo

Resident Chef Jarred Harris will teach how easy it is to prepare delicious meals in minutes with only five ingredients on June 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. The menu will include: crispy calamari salad, tuna ginger and lime cakes, and orange polenta cake with citrus and honey syrup. Cost is $25. Advance registration required by June 15 at noon.

The Sanibel Community Association will host its monthly Community Potluck today, May 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. The speaker will be Love Boat Home Made Ice Cream. Those planning to attend should register online or email info@sanibelcommunityhouse.net. Attendees are asked to bring a dish – appetizer, entree or side dish – that serves six to eight people.

Anita will teaching Alcohol Inking on May 30 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Practice all the different styles, such as sticker, stamping, swiping, blowing by straw/aircan or dabbing. Minimum of three people for the class; maximum of 10. Cost is $35. Advance registration required.

Wine & Wealth

Wine & Wealth, a free financial discussion and wine tasting, will be held May 3 at 6 p.m. Cedar Capital’s Chief Investment Officer Neil Peplinski and Financial Advisor Thomas Koleski will discuss an innovative approach to investing and offer advice on how to potentially maximize one’s retirement. In addition, attendees will taste four Italian wines from the Tuscany region and learn from a local wine enthusiast, as well as enjoy appetizers. Foodies and Yogis
