Shell Islands Garden Club takes trips to gardens
During the month of March, members of the Shell Islands Garden Club visited two local gardens, owned by Lucy Roth and Merrill Taylor, respectively. They answered any questions from their visitors. In addition, 18 club members traveled by bus to the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota. The current special exhibit features Andy Warhol, who created over 10,000 flower images in his lifetime. Lunch followed at Troyer’s Dutch Heritage restaurant. The club meets from October to May on the second Tuesday of the month at The Community House on Sanibel; year-round members meet in the summer for lunch and excursions.
