Attendees of the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva’s 17th annual Peek at the Unique on March 10 had an opportunity to visit Casa Mariposa and “peek” at two units, one occupied and one recently vacated. For the first time, Zonta partnered with Community Housing & Resources to offer the bonus tour. Casa Mariposa is a deed-restricted CHR complex, where residents must be senior citizens. An estimated 75 Peekers took advantage of the extra “peek.” Since 2002, Peek at the Unique has raised funds to support programs that empower women and girls. CHR has received a Zonta grant for the past several years to provide emergency assistance to female residents and support for educational goals.
