Water quality and mangrove protection meeting set for Oct. 27
Concerned about water quality or mangrove protection on Captiva? Then plan to attend a special meeting next Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 9 a.m.
Mike Kelly with the Captiva Community Panel will lead a special public workshop as part of the panel’s ongoing work to develop a Captiva-specific section of the Lee County Land Development Code (LDC).
This session will be held in the Jasper Cone room in Chadwicks Square at South Seas Island Resort beginning at 9 a.m.
The focus for this session will be the water quality and mangrove protection elements of the proposed LDC language being drafted by Morris-Depew, associates for the Captiva Community Panel. Suggestions and discussion will be reviewed by the panel at its next official meeting, on Tuesday, Nov. 10 beginning at 9 a.m. in the Crows Nest at ‘Tween Waters Inn.
The other LDC workshops and the topics to be discussed are tentatively set as follows:
Late November ? Height restrictions workshop
Dec. 8 ? Panel meeting on height restrictions
Late December ? Signs workshop
Jan. 12, 2010 ? Panel meeting on sign language
Late January ? Estate zoning workshop
Feb. 9, 2010 ? Panel meeting on estate zoning
