Uncommon Friends Foundation annual meeting is tonight
The public is invited to attend the annual meeting of the Uncommon Friends Foundation on Thursday, April 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will be held under the Oak trees at the Burroughs Home, located at 2505 First Street in Fort Myers. John Sheppard, a third generation Lee County resident, will be the guest speaker.
Sheppard will discuss his latest book, “One Man’s Family in Early Fort Myers.” He will also provide his recollections of his relationship to Jim and Ellie Newton, long-time Fort Myers Beach residents.

In addition, The Burroughs Home will be open for tours. Limited free parking is available across the street at the Langford-Kingston House. VIP parking will be available at the First United Methodist Church for $5.
The Uncommon Friends Foundation, established in 1993, is a character education foundation whose mission is to instill ethics, moral values and a sense of purpose in tomorrow’s leaders. The foundation is dedicated to enriching society by promoting the positive values author James D.
