The Sanibel-Captiva Optimist Club invites the community, families, friends and leashed pets to the Jingle Bell Walk, a 5K walk or run on Sanibel’s Bowman’s Beach for charity. Proceeds will benefit local children through the Sanibel charitable organization F.I.S.H. Start the walk anytime between 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Santa will stop to see you at the beach. Bring the family with you to join the fun.

Pre-registration is available on the web site sancapoptimist.org and mail-in forms are available at the Sanibel Caf, Bailey’s General Store, the Sanibel-Captiva Bank, the F.I.S.H walk-in center on Periwinkle, and from members of the San-Cap Optimist Club (find us at the Sanibel Grill/Timbers early evenings).

Also watch for a registration table at the Sanibel Recreation Center. Registration will also be at the beach starting at 8 a.m. on Dec. 7 where credit cards will be accepted. Registration donations are $20 per person; kids (10 and under) and pets are free.

Parking is free at Bowman’s Beach for participants as are T-shirts, water and refreshments.

Sponsors are sought for donations. Call Richard at 292-4631. Further information on the walk is available from Randy at 699-8739.
