‘Florida Pirates’ And More
The waters, inlets and coves surrounding Florida’s coasts have been the refuge of infamous pirates for centuries. Navigating waters from Fort Myers down to Sanibel and Captiva islands all the way east to the coveted Keys, these pirates and privateers secured their place in history while fighting the likes of presidents, armadas and international powers. Authors James and Sarah Kaserman recount the swashbuckling tales of Black Caesar and even the legend of Gasparilla in their new book “Florida Pirates.” The Kasermans made an appearance at MacIntosh Books & Paper last week and are just a few of the authors to visit MacIntosh. On Feb. 13 local author Gary McLouth will be there from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with his latest fictional story collection “Do No Harm.” MacIntosh will welcome author Katharine Britton to Sanibel from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 15 with her debut novel “Her Sister’s Shadow.” MacIntosh Books & Paper is located at 2407 Periwinkle Way. Signed copies of these books can be purchased in advance.
