‘Les Chapeaux’ will pay tribute to Sanibel women at Historical Museum & Village fundraiser

Last week, the Sanibel Historical Museum & Village officially announced “Les Chapeaux,” a fashion gala, luncheon and auction fundraiser set for Tuesday, Feb. 15 at The Sanctuary Golf Club.
This year’s theme will showcase hats, as the Museum celebrates 17 women who have played an important role in Sanibel’s history. The style show will feature a collection of beautiful vintage clothing and spectacular hats as well as contemporary fashions from Chico’s, Eileen Fisher Boutique, Fresh Produce, Her Sports Closet, Island Girl Boutique, and the Shops at ‘Tween Waters Inn.
Renowned local artist Myra Roberts, who often depicts women in nostalgic island settings, is donating a giclee print of pioneer settler Alice O’Brien. It will be auctioned during the event’s live auction.
“Hats off” to our community sponsors, which include (Master Sponsor) Bailey’s General Store, (Gold Sponsors) Doc Ford’s Sanibel Rum Bar and Grille, The Sanctuary Golf Club and The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company, (Silver Sponsors) Bank of the Islands, Barrier Island Title Services, Inc. and Sanibel Captiva Community Bank, (Merchant Sponsor) Allegra Design, Marketing and Print.
Only 202 tickets, priced at $75 each, will be available for this popular event. Last year’s “Step Up, Step Back, Step Out” fundraiser was sold out in less than a week. Tickets may be obtained by calling Elise Hall at 472-6854.
The Sanibel Historical Museum & Village is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, primarily supported by admission monies, donations and membership dues. The Museum’s mission is to preserve and share Sanibel history. Proceeds from “Les Chapeaux” will be directed towards the Historical Village’s capital fund for future expansion.
