Chapel By-The-Sea hosts Community Carol Sing Dec. 12

This Sunday, as part of the Captiva Holiday Village, the Chapel By-The-Sea will host a Community Carol Sing from 6 to 7 p.m.
“When those original people that inspired the concept started taling about the Holiday Village, from the very beginning, we hoped that the Chapel would be a part of it. It’s such an iconic place on Captiva,” said Chapel By-The-Sea Community Carol Sing organizer Nathalie Pyle. “Every year, Chapel attendees, led by John Slater, put up simply spectatcular Christmas lights and they’re just lovely. As everyone was discussing the Captiva Holiday Village, a couple Chapel regulars were thinking about doing something to get the community to the Chapel to see the lights.”
The idea that struck a chord most with the Chapel members was a community Christmas carol sing-a-long, followed by cookies, cider and conversation, and of course, John Slater’s beautiful Christmas lights.
“This will be an opportunity for the Captiva community to gather together at a holiday time at the very wonderful location of the Chapel By-The-Sea and celebrate some of the traditional holiday music that everybody knows and loves,” Pyle said, noting that there will also be some special performers and soloists at the carol sing-a-long — but for now, she’s keeping them a secret.
To find out who these special guests will be — and to enjoy an evening of community, carols and beautiful Christmas lights — come to the Chapel on Sunday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m.
The Chapel By-The-Sea is located at 11580 Chapin Lane on Captiva, behind the Captiva Memorial Library.
