Readers are invited to discuss “Testimony” by author Anita Shreve, the focus of the Wednesday, Sept. 22 book discussion meeting at the Sanibel Public Library, located at 770 Dunlop Road. Admission is free.

At a New England boarding school, a sex scandal is about to break. Even more shocking than the sexual acts themselves is the fact that they were caught on videotape. A Pandora’s box of revelations, the tape triggers a chorus of voices — those of the men, women, teenagers and parents involved in the scandal — that details the ways in which lives can be derailed or destroyed in one foolish moment.

Author Anita Shreve will be at the Sanibel Public Library on Feb. 10, 2011 as part of the Author Series sponsored in part with the generous support of the Sanibel Library Foundation, Inc. and its donors. Shreve has written 15 books, and one, “The Pilot’s Wife,” was chosen for Oprah’s Book Club.

Discussion begins promptly at 2 p.m. in Meeting Room #4, across from the elevator on the ground level. Books and CD Books are available and are located in the library near the reference desk.  It is preferable to come having read the book to be able to join in the lively discussion, but all are welcome.

If you have any questions, please call the library at 472-2483.
