Monday nights are jazzy at The Community House
Season is here and the activity level on the island is picking up. Adding to the choices of entertainment, the Sanibel Community House has scheduled music, dance, dinner and mingling to get your week started island style.
Monday, Jan. 11 kicks off the first evening of Monday nights Island Jazz and Dance Band series. This first Monday night will offer a fish fry dinner sponsored by Bailey’s General Store. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. for dinner and dancing will begin at 7 p.m. Tom Cooley and friends will play their famous jazz band music with dancing for everyone.
Future Monday nights will include Cooley on drums with regulars Harry Reiner on trumpet and Gene Federico on guitar and vocals. Additionally, a variety of guest musicians will be introduced, providing a selection of dance music that will appeal to all who enjoy listening and the chance to dance. Dinner is optional and offerings will change for each event and will be announced weekly.
Mark your calendars and plan to mingle at The Community House during these socials where locals and visitors can enjoy food, music and dancing:

March 15, 22 and 29
Tickets are $5 for music and dance only, $15 for dancing and dinner, and children under 12 are $8. A cash bar will be available. The first evening will be hosted by the Sanibel Captiva Lions Club.
