‘Songwriters Blend’ a coffeehouse experience on Sanibel
The Sanibel Community Association welcomes songwriter/entertainer Rob Galbraith as the featured artist for this month’s Danny Morgan Production of “Songwriters Blend” at the Sanibel Community House on Monday Dec. 14 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Community House will once again transform itself into an intimate coffee house setting where you can stop by after dinner for great music and drinks. The house is all decorated for the holidays with candles, lights, three Christmas trees and lots of color. Sit back, relax with a glass of wine, drink or coffee and enjoy the talent of Galbraith as he delivers blues country music. A local favorite, John McLain, will accompany Rob.
Galbraith is a Grammy Award-winning producer, publisher and entertainer who finds himself drawn to blues more than bluegrass. He began performing in 1969 and has released blues/rock albums since then. Rob played live for the first time in July 2008 at Douglas Corner Caf in Nashville, Tenn. and will delight islanders with his stories and songs from his wide range of experiences.
In 1978, Rob started a publishing company and co-produced with artist Ronnie Milsap. Over the years, Galbraith produced four albums nominated for Grammys (with three winning), produced more than 20 Number 1 chart records and worked with such artists as Patti LaBelle and Kenny Rogers. In the late 1990s, he produced the first two CDs for Kevin and Michael Bacon, The Bacon Brothers.
“Now I look forward to performing live in an informal, almost rehearsal type of format,” said Galbraith, whose rich background in the music industry is going to bring an interesting and entertaining evening to islanders.
This month’s sponsor is Billy Kirkland of Billy’s Rentals. Drinks and snacks will be available, plus the Sanibel Bean will provide its scrumptious coffee. Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased at The Community House or at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m.
