September BIG Arts workshops offered in glass fusing, pottery, dance and music

Don’t miss BIG ARTS workshops starting in September:

Glass Fusing with Petra Kaiser begins Thursday, Sept. 3 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. An amazing variety of creations can be produced using techniques such as kiln firing, mold making and designing. No special skills are required for this class, just a willingness to express your creativity with a great material.

Youth Dance: Ballet, Basic Tap, Hip Hop classes begin Tuesday, Sept. 8, and will be held at the Sanibel Recreation Center. Instructor Isabel Castro has been dancing since the age of eight and teaching for more than 20 years.

3:30 to 4:15 p.m. Ballet & Basic Tap: Ages 3 and 4

2:40 to 3:25 p.m. Ballet & Jazz: Grades K to 2nd

4:20 to 5:15 p.m. Ballet & Hip Hop: Grades 3rd to 5th

Pottery on the Wheel with Kelly Williamson will be held on Tuesdays, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. starting Sept. 15. All experience levels are welcome. Through hands-on experience students will learn techniques in throwing, trimming, altering forms and working off the hump. Forms such as cups, bowls, vases, tea pots and covered jars will be demonstrated.

Piano, Voice, Guitar, Saxophone and Flute Lesson signups are starting now for fall classes. Piano, flute, guitar and sax classes are offered to adults as well as children. Jennifer Valiquette will hold saxophone and flute lessons, and Alex Fernandez will teach guitar. Janet Warner has piano classes for beginners, and transfer students, for children and adults. Steven Cramer will teach voice as well as piano lessons for adult students.
