Manager sought to join Sanibel Historical Museum and Village
The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village is accepting applications for manager of the museum. This is a salaried position requiring four days a week, Wednesday through Saturday.
The Museum is open October through April from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and May through mid-August from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The manager runs most of the day-to-day operations of the Museum and performs many high-level,non routine tasks either independently or when assisting Board of Director members, docents and volunteers. The salary is $25,000 per year. There is no paid vacation, sick leave or other paid benefits.
The position requires a background relating to such fields as museums, membership associations, management consulting, office management, computer training, computer maintenance and knowledge of Sanibel history. Attributes such as superior computer skills, special projects management, volunteer and employee supervision, planning, formatting, composition, and editing of newsletters and other written communications, leadership, management, organizational, professional written, oral and interpersonal communications, and detail-orientation are among prerequisties for this position.
