Enjoy an evening in Italy for a PURRE cause April 19th

Family, friends and good food make up some of the greatest joys of Italian living.

Anyone looking to enjoy a night of Italian food, wine and fun and at the same time support a good cause is invited to come to The Sanctuary on Sunday, April 19.

People United to Restore Our Rivers & Estuaries (PURRE) is holding an Evening in Italy dinner/fundraiser event at the restaurant from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets cost $150 per person.

PURRE is a nonprofit organization whose members and partners are dedicated to improving the health and productivity of the rivers and estuaries of South Florida.

Maureen Valiquette, vice-chair for PURRE, encourages the community to come out and enjoy themselves.

“We want people to come out because it’s going to be a really fun event,” Valiquette said.

During the fundraisers guests can feast on Italian delicacies, indulge in a fine bottle of Italian wine and dance to the music of Italian tenor Maurice LoMonaco. During a raffle there will be a chance for someone to win two round trip tickets to Italy and a one-week stay in the countryside of Todi in the Umbria Region.

The basis behind the fun night is to help PURRE work towards its mission improving the health of South Florida waters and keeping it clean and free of pollution and toxins. The non-profit agency works with politicians and decision makers to clean and maintain healthy waters.

“In order to keep PURRE moving forward we are asking the community to come out, have fun and support PURRE,” said board member Dan Schuyler.
