Renowned photographer, John Carney, conducting workshop at Shell Museum Feb. 28

Renowned photography, John Carney is conducting a shell photography workshop at The Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum on Feb. 28 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The class is designed to instruct both adults and children over the age of 10.

During this workshop students will photograph shells as well as Museum exhibits. Understanding and controlling a camera, snapshots vs. photographs, the elements of composition, lighting, exposure, depth of field, metering, focus, lenses, and macro-photography will all be discussed.

John Carney is a Sanibel resident who has been teaching and judging photography for 40 years in Michigan, New York and Florida. He completed his undergraduate degree at the State University College of New York at Buffalo and an M.A. at Michigan State University. During the course of his distinguished career, he has studied with Oscar Bailey, Charles Swedland, Jerry Ulsman, Clyde Butcher, and Dr. Leonard Rue III.

Registration for this program is required and minimum class size requirements must be met.. The cost of the program is $32. To register, call MaryJo Bunnell at 239-395-2233.
