2 min read

The deadline is quickly approaching for residents of Captiva to donate money for WGCU Public Media’s newest edition of “Untold Stories.”

“Paradise? Or Paradise Lost?” is the title of WGCU’s latest installment in the organization’s Untold Stories series, a collection of half-hour documentaries featuring various locations in Southwest Florida. This will be the first Untold Stories segment to feature Captiva Island.

A special event for the premier of this new documentary will take place on Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Captiva Civic Association, located at 11550 Chapin Lane, beginning at 5 p.m. If you have questions regarding the event, please contact the CCA.

All guests attending the event will receive a copy of the program on DVD as part of the $40 admittance fee.

Invitations with reservation information were sent out earlier this week, but those who would like to request an invitation may do so by calling the CCA at 472-2111.

If you would like to learn more about WGCU’s archived episodes of Untold Stories, please visit www.wgcu.org and click on “Untold Stories.”

If you can’t make the event, “Paradise? or Paradise Lost?” will premier to the public broadcast on WGCU on Friday, Feb. 27 at 8:30 p.m. The program will air again on Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m. and Feb. 29 at 11 p.m.

“We are still $1,500 short on donations for the cost of making this documentary,” Gibson added.

All those who are interested in donating money to the project should contact Ron Gibson at 472-6179.
