Nola Theiss, executive director and founder of Human Trafficking Awareness Partnerships, made a presentation on the current status of human trafficking locally and globally to the Caloosa Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution in Fort Myers on April 9. After the presentation she was surprised by a special presentation by the leadership of the organization.

Nola was awarded the Silver Good Citizenship Award by the local S.A.R. Chapter and the Florida Society of the Sons of the American Revolution “in recognition of notable services in behalf of our American principles.” President of the Chapter Lee Matson noted that her efforts to fight trafficking and to inform the public about what they could do was consistent with the mission of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Nola commented that she would wear the medal proudly as a reminder of the principles we all believe in and would take action to uphold them.
