William Edward Bettenhausen
William Edward Bettenhausen, age 17, went home to be with Jesus on September 29th, 2024. William was born in Evanston, Illinois on October 29th, 2006. William is survived by his mother, Jesseka; father, Gregory; sister, Abigail; and brother, Preston. He also has grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many others who love him dearly.
William was a senior at Liberty Christian Academy and was headed off to Liberty University next year. William is the most special son and brother a family could ever ask for. He loved Jesus with his entire heart, soul, and mind and that was evidenced daily. William frequently spoke with strangers about his personal relationship with Jesus, sharing with them his confidence in Heaven. William touched the lives of so many people he encountered and could have a conversation with practically anyone, of any age.
He was known for his infectious smile, constant love for activity and adventure, and his tender heart. He rarely sat still! He is a truly special young man. William was a visionary who could translate his thoughts into plans, detailed sketches, and action. He was interested in taking things apart and putting them back together, most recently building a travel trailer from scratch and restoring a Ford Ranger pick-up truck. William was an old soul who loved Yacht Rock Radio (he knew all the lyrics) and Bill Gaither! He knew how to cook and was an excellent organizer. He has done more in 17 years that many will do in a lifetime. William is so loved and will be missed every single day.
