The city of Sanibel reported that as of 4:30 p.m. today, Aug. 9, the Lighthouse Beach parking lot (bayside) has reopened. Additionally, the following lots are open and available for public use: Blind Pass Beach, Bowman’s Beach, Gulfside City Park (Algiers), Lighthouse Beach (Gulfside), Sanibel Boat Ramp and Trost. Turner Beach remain closed while crews work to prepare the site for reopening; notice will be provided when it is open.

The city of Sanibel reported today, Aug. 5, that the Lighthouse Beach Park, Gulfside City Park Beach, Trost Parking Lot (Tarpon Bay Road), Bowman’s Beach, Turner Beach and Blind Pass Beach Park lots are temporarily closed until further notice due to flooding conditions. The closures have been issued due to the large amounts of standing water and high tide flooding in the parking areas.
