Mosquito control set for islands

LEE COUNTY MOSQUITO CONTROL DISTRICT

The Lee County Mosquito Control District has spray truck activity scheduled for Sanibel and Captiva.

The district reported that the following area will be treated for adult mosquitoes between sunset today, Aug. 13, and 2 a.m. on Aug. 14 by Ultra Low Volume trucks, weather permitting:

– East end from the Sanibel Lighthouse west to Dixie Beach Boulevard and the west end of Middle Gulf Drive at Casa Ybel Road

– From the west end of West Gulf Drive east to Casa Ybel Road, including Rabbit Road and Tarpon Bay Road, and west of Periwinkle Way

– From Blind Pass southeast to Belding Drive, avoiding the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge

– From South Seas Plantation south to Blind Pass

Residents experiencing a high number of mosquitoes at their home can submit a service request at https://lcmcd.com/ or call 239-694-2174. LCMCD crews regularly respond to requests for service and determine the need for mosquito treatments.
