Refuge’s WoW focuses ocean acidification
The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge reported that the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge’s Wildlife on Wheels finished off the school year last week at Oak Hammock Middle School in the Tice community teaching eighth-graders about the pH scale and how it correlates to ocean acidification. The team simulated ocean acidification on a seashell soaked in vinegar versus tap water. Summer camp scheduling will begin on June 10 and carry through to July 26 to five different locations.
