J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge representatives set up an informational table at the 31st annual Sam Bailey’s Islands Night on April 17 at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers. The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge was a sponsor for the parade and game hosted by the SanCap Chamber of Commerce. The refuge’s Outreach Team also recently had a presence at the DYS Marina post-hurricane reopening event on Fort Myers Beach. Additional outreach occasions included meditation at the Cypress Cove Retirement Community on May 8 in Fort Myers, plus a Juneteenth Celebration set for June 15 at Roberto Clemente Park in Fort Myers where the Roving Ranger will appear at one of its first community-hosted events.
