On April 3 at about 3 p.m., the Sanibel Fire and Rescue District was dispatched to an electrical hazard. Upon arrival, crews found an area of brush and a debris pile that was encroaching on a maintenance shed. The district reported that they were able to get control of the fire and prevent any damage to the structure. No injuries were reported and the fire was fully extinguished. The Sanibel Police Department and Lee County Electric Cooperative aided with mitigating the fire scene.
