The Sanibel Captiva Orchid Society will meet on April 15 at 12:30 p.m. at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, at 2304 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. The guest speaker will be Vanessa Long, of SunLand Orchids in Fort Myers. She will talk about “The World of Brassavola Orchids.” Long imports specimens from Brazil’s southern section, and some will be available for purchase at the meeting. An orchid sale and a plant raffle will also be held. In addition, those with an “ill or hurricane damaged orchid” in need of diagnosis can bring the plants for the show-and-tell portion.
