Bat Yam provides update on news and activities
The Bat Yam Temple of the Islands on Sanibel reported on its news and activities.
– Bus transportation being provided from the Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers to the Sanibel temple is ensuring that congregation members do not miss out on any services or events.
– The Purim Service, Spiel and Reception was held on March 23.
– The congregation’s Annual Meeting will take place on April 4 at 4 p.m. in Fellowship Hall at the Sanibel Congregational United Church of Christ, at 2050 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Pizza will be served afterward. All are welcome. Bat Yam thanked its trustees and committees for their work, led by its president, and noted that one new congregant is serving on the board.
– Community Passover Seder will be held on April 22 at 5 p.m. in Fellowship Hall at the SCUCC on Sanibel. There will be matzo, chopped liver, charoset and chicken soup with matzo balls. Rabbi Sunny Schnitzer will explain the essence of the holiday and celebration of freedom. Haggadahs — the books dedicated to honor the Exodus story — will be distributed. The cost is $50 for adults, $25 for ages 5-17 and free for ages under 5. Reservations are required by contacting batyamsanibel@gmail.com.
