CAPTIVA CIVIC ASSOCIATION The Captiva Civic Association will host its next Porch and Patio Party on March 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Captiva Civic Center on Captiva.

Reservations are open for the Captiva Civic Association’s upcoming Porch and Patio Party.

Themed “Spring Forward,” the event will take place on March 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. outdoors on the porch and patio at the Captiva Civic Center on Captiva. Free and open to the public, the casual cocktail party will feature live music, food and drinks, along with the chance for the community to connect.

“We host the Porch and Patio series to bring the community together in a social gathering,” CCA Executive Director Emily Hess Ankerson said.

The theme is a celebration of the longer days of sunshine and warmer weather.

“It’s the day after we turn the clocks ahead,” she said, referring to daylight saving time. “We are going into spring and the end of season, so we thought it might be kind of a fun turnaround party.”

Attendees will enjoy catered appetizers, bar refreshments and the entertainment.

“People are encouraged to wear bright spring colors,” Ankerson said.

While the event is free, RSVPs are requested in advance.

“It’s free because we have a sponsor,” she said.

The Pfeifer Realty Group is the sponsor for this season’s series.

The public is encouraged to reserve their spot.

“Coming out is an opportunity to say hi to other islanders and meet new people in a really nice fun outdoor setting,” Ankerson said.
