The J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel reported that Jan. 15 marks a federal holiday that has been declared a fee-free day for public lands. Admission fees to Wildlife Drive will be waived in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. On Jan. 15, the refuge offices and Visitor & Education Center will be closed. Tarpon Bay Explorers and the Bailey Tract will be open during normal hours.
