Locals invited to ‘adopt’ a mangrove
COASTAL WATCH
Coastal Watch reported that Florida mangroves provide protection from storms, nurseries for wildlife and recreation for people. The community is invited to consider adopting a mangrove for the fall. Residents will “adopt” their own mangroves to nurture at home until they are ready for planting. The mangroves in the program will be planted at one of the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation’s shoreline restoration sites in 2024.
