J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Supervisory Refuge Ranger Toni Westland recently gave the Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club a private tour on the Indigo Trail at the refuge. Members heard stories of alligators and otters, while spotting lots of baby birds and nests. They even discovered a rare green anole. The members also heard a story about baby raccoons that not only survived Hurricane Ian, but were able to thrive and mature. The club thanked Westland for leading the fun educational walk.
