CHAMBER TO HOST BUSINESS LUNCHEON

The Sanibel & Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce will hold its next business luncheon meeting on Aug. 11 starting at noon at the Pink Shell Beach Resort, at 275 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach.

The guest speaker is Col. Andrew Kelly, commander and district engineer of the Jacksonville District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The meeting is being held in partnership with the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association and is sponsored by Captains for Clean Water and Rapid Response Team.

Cost is $30 for chamber members only. Advanced registration is required by Aug. 6 at 5 p.m. at sanibel-captiva.org or 239-472-8255; walk-ins are not accepted. Payment is due at time of registration.

COSTELLO JOINS SAN CAP TRUST COMPANY

The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company announced the appointment of T. John Costello Jr. as senior vice president to the Fiduciary Services Team, with his office at The Naples Trust Company division.

He joins the company from Porter Wright Morris & Arthur in Naples, where he served as a senior associate focused on estate planning, probate and trust administration, probate litigation, guardianships and general business law.

Earlier in his legal career, Costello served as an associate at Wollman, Gehrke & Associates in Naples, Kelley Kronenberg in Fort Myers, and Costello, Royston & Wicker in Fort Myers. Prior to obtaining his juris doctor, he was a software engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation in Melbourne and San Diego, California, where he worked on radar systems for the U.S. Air Force.

Costello obtained his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating with honors. He obtained his certificate in systems engineering from the California Institute of Technology, Industrial Relations Center, in San Diego, and a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Florida State University.

His memberships and admissions include the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, of which he held one of four fellow positions from 2014-16; Collier County Bar Association; United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida; and The Florida Bar.
