GCHS to host Hurricane Prep Protect Your Pet Crate Event
The Gulf Coast Humane Society reported that it is hurricane season and effectively planning for a hurricane is being proactive.
For pet owners, having the right tools for the plan is crucial and having a crate for their pet is important. For those evacuated to a pet-friendly shelter, having a pet in a crate is required.
The GCHS has an over-abundance of wire crates. It will hold a Hurricane Prep Protect Your Pet Wire Crate Event on July 22 from 2 to 6 p.m. at its adoption center, at 2010 Arcadia St., Fort Myers.
“Having a crate for your pet is one of the most important items you can have in your hurricane prep plan,” Executive Director Jennifer Galloway said. “We do have a surplus of wire crates and we want to help as many families to help keep their pets safe.”
Pet owners can pick up a crate, which come in many sizes, with a donation suggested.
