Free guided refuge tours on tap for summer
The J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge is set to relaunch its free tours program for the summer, which will run from June 20 through Aug. 7. Staff continues to limit the outdoor tours to 10 or fewer.
There is no set schedule for the tours; those interested should monitor the dingdarling.eventbrite.com page, where they must pre-register free-of-charge. The tours include a children’s program, art activities, Mindfulness Walk at Bailey Tract and Beach Walk.
“We are excited to be able to welcome visitors to our free educational tours again this summer,” Supervisory Refuge Ranger Toni Westland said. “Watch our Eventbrite site for possible additions as the summer progresses.”
Free educational tours are made possible through support from the “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge. For more information, visit dingdarlingsociety.org/articles/free-refuge-programs or call 239-472-1100 ext. 221.
